SUGAR CAUSES WRINKLES?

The British Journal of Dermatology has released a study claiming that the consumption of sugar may hasten wrinkling in skin. It asserts that sugar or any food which produces glucose in the bloodstream, combine with proteins to form a molecule called A.G.E. (Advanced Glycation End products). As A.G.E.'s multiply they ravage adjacent proteins, collagen and elastin proteins which are responsible for skin firmness are highly susceptible. Sagging and wrinkling are the result. Before you stress about all that Halloween candy you have been eating, the study also suggests that you can minimize or even reverse the damage by limiting your sugar intake. Phew! We know sugar is not good for us. This is certainly another good reason to cut it out.
